  1. Sending and Receiving Faxes with Network FAX
  1.1. Sending Faxes
1.1.1. Switching to Easy User Mode in Windows XP
This program does not support switching to easy user mode in Windows XP. If you want to use Network FAX as a different user, you must first log out as the current user, and then log back in as the new user.

  1.1.2. Fax Paper Sizes
This program supports files with A4, B4, A3, U.S. Letter, and U.S. Legal sizes, with 200x200 and 400x400 dpi resolutions. It sends faxes in A4 size, at 200x200 dpi resolution.

  1.1.3. Sender's E-Mail Address in Network FAX
If you quit the Send Preferences without entering anything in the Network FAX Sender's E-Mail Address (From) field, the program will default to "Network FAX" Data sent with such a header will not be returned if it should be damaged on SMTP servers.

  1.1.4. Updating the Display
Be careful of how many files you keep at a time. If there are a lot of files in the fax mailboxes, display updates for them will bog down the system.

1.1.5. The transmission result notification in the case of e-mail transmission
The transmission result notification is not available in the case of e-mail transmission.

  1.2. The Address Book
1.2.1. Using the Jet Engine Feature
The Network FAX Address Book uses the Jet Engine feature.

1.2.2. Database Entries in CSV Format
End Of Line characters mark the end of a record. Commas are field delimiters, except when in double quotation marks, when they are treated as data.

  2. Printer Driver
  2.1. Printer Driver Setup
Network FAX installs the Network FAX for Windows printer driver as part of the standard installation process.
If an error message appears at setup to the effect that the printer driver file could not be copied, it is possible that the Network FAX for Windows printer driver has not been properly configured. Check to see whether the Network FAX for Windows printer driver icon is listed in Start Menu - Settings - Printers.

2.1.1. If you can't register Printer Driver under Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP
Run \PrintDriver\setupnt.exe inside the Network FAX installer folder.
Registering a printer with Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, or Windows XP requires Administrator privileges.

  3. Printing
3.1. Horizontal Printing in Windows NT 4.0 Notepad
Horizontally oriented images may not necessarily be generated properly when printing horizontally in Notepad.

  3.2. Printing in Acrobat Reader
When printing a PDF file in Acrobat Reader, images may be generated at sizes different from the paper size of the source document.

3.3. Network FAX for Windows Printer Driver Limitations
    1) Network FAX may not properly accept printing paper settings, including, but not limited to, page settings, when set in some applications. If this happens, follow these steps to reconfigure these settings:
       a) Select the printer to be used under normal circumstances with Network FAX for Windows, and create a new document.
       b) Set the paper size in the Network FAX for Windows Properties.

    2) Depending on the source application that you are printing from, dotted lines and other light contrast characters may not print correct. Set contrast levels to dark when printing such characters.

    3) When printing files handled as graphics, choose "Print as Graphic" or similar command in the relevant application.

3.4. Automatic A4/U.S. Letter Paper Size Adjustment in Microsoft Office
Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications may have a feature that automatically adjusts the printing paper size between A4 and U.S. Letter. If you use this automatic adjustment feature, note that it will print U.S. Letter documents in A4 size when running in Japanese language environments. Refer to the help file for the application in question for further details.

  3.5. Print with Microsoft Office
In the applications of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, etc., if the image is put and printed, garbage (dot marks) might be generated in the blank part within the range of the image.
Please click the image - "Format Object" - "Picture" tab, and change the "Color" of "Image control" to "Black and White".

  3.6. Book Printing in Excel
When book printing in Excel in Windows 2000 or Windows XP, the document may not necessarily print in the orientation in which it was created.

3.7. If a message box indicating 'insufficient memory' appears when printing with the Network FAX for windows printer driver under WindowsNT4.0/2000/XP, and data is not stored in Network FAX, change the virtual memory size.
The required virtual memory size differs with the environment, however a size of 256-300 Mbyte is generally satisfactory.

<<Setting the Size of the Virtual Memory>>
         WindowsNT4.0
Control Panel > System > Performance tab > Virtual Memory

         Windows 2000
Control Panel > System > Details tab > Performance option > Virtual Memory

         Windows XP
Control Panel > System > Details Setup tab > Performance > Detail Setup tab > Virtual Memory
